Singapore's First Sheltered Olympic Pool
Jurong West Swimming Complex opened on 10 November 2006 and introduced something no other public pool in Singapore had at the time - a sheltered 50-metre Olympic-sized competition pool with 8 lanes. Rain or shine, lap swimmers and competitive training carry on uninterrupted.
Beyond the sheltered pool, the complex has an outdoor 50-metre training pool, a fun pool with water slide, a lazy river, jacuzzi and kiddy pool. With 465 spectator seats, it also hosts swimming competitions and school events.
It is about 6 minutes on foot from Pioneer MRT. Jurong West is the district's sheltered lap-swimming option. Jurong East is the separate feature-pool option for families looking for a wave pool and lazy river, while Jurong Lake Gardens Pool is a newer lakeside standard pool.
